Heydar Aliyev International Airport has conducted a comprehensive practical emergency response exercise aimed at further strengthening its operational readiness and emergency response capabilities in the event of an aircraft-related incident.
The exercise simulated a realistic emergency scenario involving an aircraft following an emergency landing. The training covered aircraft firefighting operations, the rescue and evacuation of passengers and crew members, the provision of first aid, as well as coordinated emergency response procedures involving all relevant airport services.
The exercise brought together personnel from Heydar Aliyev International Airport’s Rescue and Firefighting Service, the Airport Operations Directorate, the Aviation Security Directorate, the Medical Service, ground handling providers, and other relevant operational units.
The primary objective of the exercise was to enhance interagency coordination, strengthen operational decision-making processes, and further improve the practical preparedness of personnel in responding to emergency situations. In addition, the airport’s emergency response procedures were tested under realistic operational conditions in accordance with international civil aviation standards.
Such comprehensive exercises are conducted on a regular basis at Heydar Aliyev International Airport as part of its continuous commitment to operational resilience, the enhancement of aviation safety standards, and the protection of passengers, flight crews, and airport infrastructure.
