Flight safety: at Baku airport was held the first FOD collection campaign

At Heydar Aliyev International Airport, for the first time, a FOD (foreign object garbage) collection campaign was held under the slogan “Flight safety is also cleanliness!”.
FOD is any foreign object found on runways, taxiways and maintenance areas that may pose a hazard to an aircraft. As part of the action, airport employees and other representatives of aviation services joined forces to clean the runway, apron, and surrounding areas of the Baku airport.
“This campaign is extremely important from a flight safety point of view and is an example of environmental awareness among airport staff in their daily activities. On the other hand, this serves to strengthen the culture of flight safety among our employees,” said Elmir Guluzadeh, Deputy Director for Flight Safety at Baku airport.
It should be noted that Heydar Aliyev International Airport plans to implement this initiative in the future, which will help maintain flight safety and protect environmental standards.
