Heydar Aliyev International Airport continues to implement innovative technologies aimed at enhancing service quality and operational efficiency. As part of this process, self-service kiosks for flight check-in and baggage drop-off have been installed in Terminal 1 during the first phase. Similar equipment is planned to be installed in Terminal 2 in the future. These innovations are designed to reduce waiting times, simplify pre-flight procedures, and ensure a more comfortable and convenient travel experience for passengers.
The new kiosks enable passengers to quickly and easily check in for their flights, select seats, receive boarding passes, and drop off their baggage without waiting in line at traditional check-in desks. For added convenience, passengers are advised to familiarize themselves with the airline’s requirements for carry-on and checked baggage in advance, ensuring a smooth pre-flight preparation process. If the baggage exceeds the allowable weight, passengers are requested to use the traditional check-in desks. Future upgrades are planned, including the introduction of payment capabilities directly at the kiosks and the addition of new functionalities.
Currently, the "Self Check-In" and "Baggage Drop-Off" services are available to passengers of AZAL. Soon, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Uzbekistan Airways, and Kuwait Airways also plan to integrate these services.
These kiosks are intended for passengers flying directly from Baku, helping save time and enhance travel comfort. For transit passengers, the registration procedure remains traditional.
It is worth noting that these innovations are part of Heydar Aliyev International Airport's strategy to implement advanced technologies and improve service quality. Baku Airport continues to provide its passengers with modern and convenient services that meet international standards.
