October 5, 2023, Baku - A special training was held between Heydar Aliyev International Airport and the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in order to increase the efficiency of security measures implemented, to promptly solve the tasks set before structural units in case of emergency situations, to increase the practical skills of the personnel in this direction, as well as to further strengthen the interaction between state bodies on emergency rescue operations.
In accordance with the training scenario, the operation was simulated based on the conditional information received about the placement of “explosives” in the passenger and cargo terminals of the Baku airport. Thus, the employees of the General Aviation Security Administration of AZAL CJSC equipped with necessary means, Fire-Rescue Units, personnel of the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, specially trained dogs and medical personnel were involved in the scene.
After the people in the area were evacuated to a safe distance, as a result of the search measures carried out with specially trained dogs, bags were found as conditional suspicious items without an owner in the passenger and cargo terminals of the airport. As a result of the examination, the presence of “explosives” in their bags was confirmed.
It was decided to remove the detected “explosion hazardous items” from the territory by transporting them in safe conditions and “neutralising” them at a special explosion site. The goals set during the successfully conducted training were achieved.
